YXZ Shock Tower Brace
The Dirt Launch Powersports YXZ Shock Tower Brace improves front suspension strength and geometry on the Yamaha YXZ1000R. This CNC billet aluminum brace relocates the upper shock mounting position slightly up and out, improving leverage on the control arm and increasing suspension responsiveness under load.
The result is a front suspension that feels more controlled during cornering, jumping, and hard landings while also strengthening the factory shock mount area.
This is a simple bolt-on upgrade that installs in minutes and delivers immediate improvement in suspension performance.
Current Production Notice: These braces are currently in production. Please allow 2–3 weeks for delivery.
Key Features
- CNC machined billet aluminum construction
- Relocates the upper shock mount for improved suspension geometry
- Improves suspension responsiveness and control
- Anodized for durability and corrosion resistance
- Direct bolt-on installation
- All installation hardware included
- Made in the USA
Optional Bolt-On Gusset
For additional strength, an optional bolt-on gusset is available. This gusset reinforces the factory shock mount area and helps prevent frame failures when riding aggressively.
- Thick TIG welded steel construction
- Installs from the bottom of the frame tubes
- Helps reduce flex in the factory mount
- Uncoated finish allows welding to the chassis if desired
Optional Bolt Upgrade
Upgrade the factory upper and lower shock bolts with stronger hardware for improved durability under heavy use.
What You’ll Notice After Installation
The suspension will feel firmer and more responsive, especially when cornering and landing jumps. At full compression the suspension maintains control instead of giving up like the stock configuration can.

YXZ Shock Tower Brace Installation Instructions
- Remove the plastic cover over the radiator.
- Remove the M10 head bolt from the plastic cover going over the shock tower. Trim the plastic over the shock tower to make room for the brace.
- Safely lift the front of the vehicle and place it on jack stands.
-
Important: Verify the front suspension is uncompressed.
- Remove the top mounting bolts from the front shocks.
- Mount the shock brace to the chassis using the two bolts removed in the previous step.
-
Bolt-On Gusset Option (if selected): Install the gusset by sliding the long end up through the frame from the bottom with the flat side facing forward. Use the supplied M8 bolt and thread it into the shock brace. Apply Loctite or equivalent thread locker.
- Note: Minor adjustment to the gusset may be required due to chassis differences.
- Install the small bolt supplied in the kit from the bottom side of the shock mount into the center of the shock brace.
- Reattach the top of the shocks to the brace using the longer bolts supplied in the kit.
-
Bolt Upgrade Option (if selected): Replace the OEM upper and lower shock mounting bolts with the upgraded bolts supplied while reusing the OEM nuts.
- Verify all hardware is tight, lower the vehicle, and the installation is complete.
