YXZ1000R Bearing Selector β€” Rod & Main

Enter the codes stamped on your crankshaft, connecting rods and lower crankcase. We'll show the Yamaha bearing color for each position (per the Yamaha YXZ1000R service manual) and add 2 halves per position to your cart.

Where to find your numbers
Crank web stamp showing the 3-digit crank pin code P1 P2 P31Crankshaft pin numbers P1–P3 (3 digits)
Numbers “A” stamped into the crankshaft web. The 3-digit group, read left to right = P1 P2 P3 (e.g. 334). P1 = cylinder #1 (front), P3 = cylinder #3 (rear, AC magneto side). Service manual p. 5-75/5-76.
Connecting rod big end with number stamp 6C2Connecting rod numbers
Numbers “B” stamped on the connecting rod big end (e.g. 6C). Use only the number (6). Rod for cylinder #1 goes with P1, #2 with P2, #3 with P3. Service manual p. 5-75/5-76.
Crank web stamp showing the 4-digit journal code J1 to J43Crankshaft journal numbers J1–J4 (4 digits)
Same crankshaft web: the 4-digit group, read left to right = J1 J2 J3 J4 (e.g. 4444). J1 is the front journal (cylinder #1 end), J4 the rear (AC magneto end). Service manual p. 5-82/5-83.
Lower crankcase with 4-digit journal stamp read J4 J3 J2 J14Crankcase (lower) numbers (4 digits)
Numbers “B” stamped on the crankcase (lower). Type them exactly as stamped, left to right. The manual shows them as J4 J3 J2 J1 (reversed) and we un-reverse them for you. Service manual p. 5-83.

Diagrams: Yamaha YXZ1000R service manual (LIT-11616-30-21). Cylinder numbering: #1 front, #2 middle, #3 rear (p. 3-4). Clean the stamps and read them in good light. 6, 8, 3 and 5 are easy to mix up.

Heads up: Selecting crank and rod bearings is a technical process. This selector assumes you can read the factory codes correctly and will verify oil clearance with Plastigauge before final assembly. If you aren't comfortable or familiar with this process, please call us at 920.498.1223 (Option 2) before you order. Dirt Launch Powersports is not responsible for incorrect code readings or bearing selections.

Rod bearings

Cylinder #1 = front, #3 = rear (manual p. 3-4). Enter 6 or 6C.

Main bearings

Do only rods or only mains if that's all you need.

Always verify with Plastigauge: rod oil clearance 0.032–0.050 mm, main 0.027–0.045 mm. Install both halves of the selected color at each position.
