The Dirt Launch Powersports Manual Cam Chain Tensioner is designed to eliminate the limitations of the factory automatic tensioner found on the Yamaha YXZ1000R.
Manufactured in-house at our Green Bay, Wisconsin facility and developed in collaboration with Casey Hauck, this tensioner provides consistent cam chain tension without relying on engine oil pressure.
The factory tensioner can momentarily lose tension during startup after an oil change when oil pressure has not yet built. If the timing chain is already partially stretched, this can create the potential for cam timing to skip.
A manual tensioner maintains constant tension on the timing chain, helping reduce the risk of timing issues during startup, engine rotation, and other situations where the factory hydraulic tensioner may not perform as intended.
This upgrade is especially beneficial for performance engines, race applications, and YXZ owners performing frequent engine service.
